New Age Engineering was brought in to evaluate a chimney termination code requirement due to a tall water tower near the chimney. Our firm found that there would be significant cost savings if a 22 foot structurally reinforced chimney extension could be avoided.

  • Preparing a New York City variance request to show what issues could arise from the chimney extension.
  • Prove through chimney draft calculations, wind load calculations, and combustion readings why the extension not only was not needed, but why it could be a hazard in the future.
  • Presented a variance presentationto the New York City Commissioner.
  • Received approved variance.
  • Obtained Department of Buildings (DOB) Approval.
  • Performed Special & Progress inspections.
